Epson Compatible Ink Cartridges and Caring For Your UK Epson Inkjet Printer
Inkjet printers are versatile and reliable devices that have the major advantage of being highly affordable. Inkjet technology is easy to understand and inkjet printers are easy to service when they need ink cartridges replaced. Epson compatible ink cartridges are widely available throughout the UK. Here's some information about caring for an Epson printer that takes inkjet cartridges.
Easily Neglected
Most of us only pay attention to our printers when they need service such as inkjet or toner cartridges. One common printer problem is poor print quality. This can take the form of fuzzy printing, lines on the page or a blackish haze on the entire page. The way to solve this is to simply use your printer regularly -- at least twice per week - to help keep the print head and nozzles on both OEM and compatible ink cartridges from clogging. When "exercising" your printer, be sure to print documents in both colour and black and white if your printer is capable of both.
Easily Maintained
Inkjet printers spray tiny droplets of ink out of equally tiny nozzles on the paper. This precise and complex process is prone to problems, unless you care for your printer and printer cartridges properly. If not used, the ink in printer ink cartridges will congeal, dry and clog the nozzles. Sometimes cleaning will help. Other times, you might need to replace the print head. Some printers have an integrated print head on the printer itself. Other printers have the print head built into the cartridge. Regardless of where the print head is located, be sure to check the user manual to see if there's an automatic cleaning cycle you can run.
Avoid Print Head Sticker Shock
On board print heads are extremely expensive and may exceed the cost of the printer itself. Cartridges with built-in print heads are more expensive than those without. In some cases, replacement print heads may not be available. This forces you to replace the entire device. To extend the life of a print head, print often, preferably every day. This practice, although considered wasteful by some, will assure your printer will work when you need it to. If your printer has a cleaning cycle, run that often as well. If your ink nozzles do get clogged, you might want to try a commercial print head cleaner. When handling the print head, do not touch it because the oils on your skin can cause problems. Also, be sure to power down your printer after using it. Some printers have a "sleep" cycle that automatically kicks in when the printer is not being used. A print command from the computer "wakes" the printer up.
An Epson printer, along with Epson compatible ink cartridges, will give UK users years of trouble-free operation with some simple regular maintenance. |
